Hey Tony, I messaged you about some concerns and questions I have about the GDR. If you ever want to avoid those back issues try a recumbent or semi recumbent (crank forward) no more back and neck pain ever.

Have you considered doing it on a tandem?

Hi Chris, thanks! Yeah Bobb Marr brought the photo to my attention yesterday. I guess I am now officially and irrevocably embedded into bikepacking lore. No royalties, and that’s fine by me. I just need to get my hands on a copy of the mag!

Tony, first of all, best of luck for your 2012 Tour Quest. I really hope you make it up there. Just keep training the best you can. Second, I am pretty sure that there is a photo of you in the latest issue of the Adventure Cycling Association’s Cyclosource Magazine. Have you seen it? Are you getting royalties for this type of thing??

have read many interesting things on your site and I thank you because you have written things that I will serve as useful advice for the agar and the organization of the bike.

I hope to meet you in Baff on June 8 for the start of the Tour Divide …!

Sounds like a plan!!

My own plan is to give it another southbound try, starting as an ITT on June 7 (Thursday) at 6 am. That will give me a good chance of making Sparwood and will keep me ahead of the pack for a few days. Maybe I’ll pass you going the other way.

Sorry to hear you won’t be lining up in Banff this year. I’ll be in western NM permanently later this year and you’ll be more than welcome to head there for some training and recon of the southern stretches of the route.

Well I read this with sadness and hope!
Sadness that you must withdraw, but hope that I maybe able to ‘catch up’ fitness wise and be able to do this!!
